I don't know Cyndi Lauper personally, but I wouldn't fault her for "having fun" at age 50+. Heck, I'm hoping to listen to still be listening to heavy metal well into my advanced years.

Exactly. Rick Warren in his book Purpose Driven Life defined our time here on earth as like a vacation away from home. :)
