FYI Lauper's sister has been openly gay since her teens so it's no big surprise that Cindi has a soft spot for gay/lesbian issues. They are a close family.

I saw her recently at a Cher concert and was pleasantly surprised. She had such a wonderful time singing those punky 80's songs (and poking fun at them too) that we couldn't help but have a good time as well. At one point she left the stage and bounded through the rows of people just shaking hands, meeting people, and singing lyrics with the crowd.

Anyway, try not to take her so seriously. I believe the girl STILL just wants to have fun.
