We don't know. However, reading between the lines - I think Gottlieb is the shirtless World Wrestling League applicant - and he'd be a bad guy at that.
Gottlieb fits the physical description - AND - remember the Media always knows more than we do. They get quotes and comments that are off the record that aren't published.

I've read, from various sources, that the guy was Big like 5'10' range - and about 250 lbs and BALD.
In my opinion the Durham City Elders/Management is debating what to do here - and they're aren't about to let the Duke case go down the drain - that is an absolute given.
They want to keep the people happy and uninterested in their scandals, accounting, budgets, etc.
The last thing they want to do is have blacks coming out of the woodwork challenging them for office and rousing the anti-white emotions by saying these people are the ones that let the Duke guys walk. If I had been on the City Council, I would have demanded that these rapists be held accountable. I would've had 100 press conferences - ask Mr. Barry how many press conference he had? Ask him how many motions he brought in meetings to ensure these White Rapists were brought to justice.
So, I think no matter what it takes, they'll preserve the Duke case. If it takes someone else taking a hit, or them asking a Black Police to have a press conference saying it never happened - whatever it takes. Maybe the cook will be attacked, but they aren't letting the Duke case go down the drain by firing Gottlieb. That ain't happening.
