Police question investigators about assault
EXCERPT
Raleigh Police are weighing criminal simple assault charges from the incident, Hodge said. Durham police will conduct a separate internal investigation. Under the rules of such internal probes, however, Hodge said any information or evidence uncovered in the Durham investigation will not be shared with the criminal investigators from Raleigh.
"simple assault charges"
Hey, didn't they kick the guy? That's battery.
Finnerty got 6 months' probation, etc., for 'simple assault' (no physical contact at all, just shouted words).
And he's a 19 year-old kid; a police officer with years on the force should be held to a much higher standard.
Therefore, let's go for a much tougher penatly.
(We're watching, Durham. . . )
