Welcome To The Live Coverage Of Stage 19...
In the first time trial, Landis beat Pereiro by 1:40 and Sastre by 1:10. He also beat Kloden by 0:42 and Evans by 0:47.
You are always just one step ahead of me aren't you? Actually I was going to ask you to post them, but I decided that would sound really lazy so I went & fetched 'em.
Oops cancel that comment. I need to read these posts, for heavens sake. Didn't realize exactly what you had posted.
And here's the second split... 43" over 16.5 km is big. 2'08" over 35 is nuts! That'll drop a lot tho' when the big boys hit the road.
1- 023 HONCHAR (UKR, TMO) 00:41:19
2- 044 LANG (GER, GST) 00:43:26 at 00h 02' 08"
3- 072 GRABSCH (GER, PHO) 00:43:27 at 00h 02' 09"
4- 002 EKIMOV (RUS, DSC) 00:43:35 at 00h 02' 17"
5- 057 POSTHUMA (NED, RAB) 00:43:45 at 00h 02' 27"
leilani, feel free to take over this - I'm going for a ride. Gotta make sure I'm back in time for the finish!
Thanks for the Tour Ping.
Thanks for the Tour Ping.
NO! Yall can't leave me! I'm the worst one at posting updates;I always get everything mixed up & a**-backwards.
I haven't been following the tour this year....and I'm sure my question has been beat to death, but....
Why(& how) does he have to prove his innocence rather than they proving his guilt?
(YIKES! Where are my manners?) Thanks aeronaut for the ping and for taking over for nutmeg this weekend. I know it must be a real pain to spend all that time constructing these threads. And thankyou bwteim for reminding us who we should be thankful to!
This is not in a criminal context. His former employer has made this insistance.
It looks like Floyd will get out at about 10:10am EST. All Riders should be out on the course by 10:20.
Should be a great finish,
The way I understand it, & by no means do I purport to know much, is that the racing association & all the team directors signed agreements that they would kick off people even if there was justified (i.e.,evidence supported) suspicion, and the players would then have to prove their innocence. Normal codes of justice don't apply (it's not a gov't, particpating in this race is by invitation), so as to clean up the sport.
edit:players=riders for above
Good morning, Leilani.
Tip to Aeronaut - don't outdo Nutmeg, or else it'll be your job from now on and Nutmeg will be on easy street;)
Thanks.
Now THAT will take courage, don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine :)
Landis is the A rider on the Phonak team.
That's the famous "Orchestrated Fumble Strategy", isn't it? Like guys who pretend they can't boil water to get out of kitchen duty.(Or women who pretend they can't type to avoid getting stuck with clerical tasks at the office.)
