I understand there has never been a record of a wild wolf killing a human. Has anyone else heard this? That's true.
They don't leave witnesses.

"I was considering getting one of those spotted housecats, three generations removed from wild, till I researched them (gotta love the internet!) - they're still wild, destructive and unhousebroken."
I have a Bengal mix and while you can definitely see the wild streak he certainly is housebroken.
The reality is that even the more domesticated cats aren't all THAT domesticated.

"If there is evidence of one killing a human being, the ARers should be answerable in court. The charges? Murder."
That's an interesting legal theory you have there. How did you come up with it?

They are not pets. Mine's not. She's part of our pack and has been for 15 years. She's known since puppyhood that I am alpha and she's never been anything but docile. Greatest animal I've owned in 36 years. I can't imagine what life is going to be like when she's gone.
Her pic is on my profile.

On Nov. 8 2005, student Kenton Joel Carnegie was walking alone near a remote camp owned by a mining exploration company when it is believed that he was killed by wolves.
Though an investigation is continuing, some wolves in the area had been attracted to a garbage dump and appeared to be less fearful of humans. Thus far authorities said Carnegie's death is thought to be the first documented case in the wild of healthy wolves killing a human in North America since 1900.

My Wife and I raised Wolf-Hybrid (40 or so pups) for a few years with little consequence. (still have the father and last son) Many breeds of dogs have been bred down from wolves thus, most dogs are hybrids.(our male was 25% Red wolf, 75% Siberian Husky (our female was 80% Timber wolf, 20% German Shepard) I believe that the word 'wolf' is what actually scares people. We never had any bad feedback from people who bought the pups.

I had a really hard time replying to this thread. Our best friend's Mom was killed by a pack of unsupervised dogs in Thorndale TX. last Thanksgiving weekend. (Lilian Stiles) Those dogs were being bred to fight and the illegal alien who was raising them knew they were dangerous yet, only had a short chainlink fence to keep them in. I guess what I'm trying to say is, all dogs can be dangerous if the owner is derelict or purposely cruel. Sometimes you get a bad dog, other times, a bad owner.

How does that math work? Since the genes come 1/2 from the mother and 1/2 from the father, the proportion of genes from any source could presumably only be x/(2^n), where x is an integer that is not divisible by 2 and is less than or equal to 2^n and where n is an integer.
As such your case of being 4/5 Timber wold and 1/5 German Shepard is not mathematically possible.

That's what We were told when We bought her. If you figure the two set of grandparents (Wolf,Wolf)and (Wolf,Shepard) you would think their offspring would be 75% wolf, 25%Shepard but, in genetics that doesn't always hold true because of the variables from past generations. Don't get me to lying, it's been a while since I studied genetics.
