BTW, this year's Miss Springfield (VA) was stripped of her crown for her myspace webpage that was not nearly as sleazy as C. Destine's.
JLS, his stated purpose for getting this information was bogus. "To verify the witness statements". The other lacrosse players will not talk to him. So there is nothing for him to verify. He had his chance to get the information voluntarily and blew it. He will never get it now until the defense attorneys put the witnesses on the stand.
One of them apparently doesn't like snitches. Wonder what he thinks about ADA's.
Nifong still doesn't know who was at the party, I guess.
Crystal's 4/4 ID session may be a problem. She likely described a few players who weren't even there.

And of course one would presume that all the leftist "work" on the problems of cross-racial IDs apply equally when blacks ID whites. I am willing to bet some of our commentators have used that research in prior cases. I wonder if they will mention it here?
Have you found a copy of this motion yet? The actual motions in this case and supporting information have generally been more enlightening than the media reports on them.
This of course also could be setting up for a speedy trial appeal to the federal courts. I would suspect that you can not make such a claim if you have not formally demanded a speedy or speedier trial.

I talked to a lawyer in Durham today. This guy has been working for a corportation now for about 5-6 years, but before that he had spent significant time in Durham Superior Court.
He told me that he doesn't expect justice in this case. He knows next to nothing about the LAX case, but he said don't look for anyone in the Durham Justice system to put the brakes on this thing - even if there's ample evidence that it's a runaway prosecution of likely innocent men.
That's why he "realigned" his legal specialization and got out of the Durham Superior Court system.
Unfortunately, this just confirms a lot of what I've seen so far in this case.
So they want $60,000 to ASSESS gang violence? Gee, I would do it for half that price!

There's are good reasons to limit the power of these people. They do not and should not have carte blanche authority to pursue people.
