While Firefox beats the hell out of IE, and Thunderbird is a better email client, I'd hesitate to say that OpenOffice is "better" than MS Office. It does 99 percent of what you expect from MS Office, but still needs to file off some of the rough edges (printing an envelope in OpenOffice is a pain in the ass compared to MS Word, for example).

ClamWin for AV? No way. Clam is great for servers, but you're better off with free versions of AVG or AntiVir for the desktop.
