Sorry, I should have ended w/ a ;-)
Although, he does look downright porky compared w/ George there. Two weeks into the Tour and I don't think Hincapie has a gram of fat on him...
I just read Boonen abandoned. No?
It actually took Lance...an entire hour to climb l'Alpe D'Huez earlier this year! Of course, he was riding along with some friends and he did hop off the bike halfway up to take pictures of them...
Lance looks bulkier because he has been training to run a marathon. He probably looks more like he did back in the day when he did triathalons.
Yes, he did. Boonen is out. I thought his not being listed in the chase group meant that he had caught the peloton, but no, the World Champ is out of the race.
Now the only sight of the Rainbow we will see is when Michael Rogers races his time trial this weekend.
I think he did.
He looked awful already early on this stage.
OOps, that was the 2nd possibility....
Floyd switched wheels with a teammate...not a bike. Interesting.
Where does this "thing" about European women with hair under their arms come from?
I never saw so much armpit hair as I did when I lived in the US.
Then again, I DID live in Boulder :-P
I think that's the hairiest part of the nation right there... helps 'em get through the winters.
Sir: don't make me come over there and spank you. (I have to stand up for luv2ski since she is busy slaving away at a hot stove making YOUR belgian waffles and 3'57" eggs!)
John Lelangue was recently interviewed by France Television. The manager of the Phonak team is pleased with how this stage is working out. Floyd had to stop for a piss on the Izoard climb because it was better to do that on the ascent than the descent," explained Lelangue. "He then swapped a wheel with a team-mate.
The escape group has gone and weve got a representative up front with Axel which is perfect. Caisse dEpargne has control of the peloton and that suits us perfectly too. Now Floyd has Axel a few kilometers ahead and three other team-mates are with the leader so its an ideal situation for us.
Vila and De la Fuente have been caught. CSC's riders (Schleck, Zabriskie, Voigt) led the charge.
Wegmann and Charteau (1:29 behind the lead group) have dropped Flecha, who is 0:15 behind them.
The peloton is 4:15 behind the lead group.
1. De la Fuente (SDV) 10pts
2. Vila (LAM) 9pts
3. Garzelli (LIQ) 8pts
4. Voigt (CSC) 7pts
5. Zabriskie (CSC) 6pts
6. Merckx (PHO) 5pts
De la Fuente's work is pretty much done for the day. He doesn't have to worry too much about the last climb to keep his lead in the KOTM. The only guys that can catch him, even with double points available on the last climb, are Rasmussen, Dessel, Wegmann, and Boogerd, and even then, everyone except Rasmussen would have to win the stage to do it. Rasmussen would have to finish in the top 4.
The peloton reached the summit of the climb 4:20 behind the leaders.
They are now calculated to be 3:57 behind on the descent.
I think this thread is degenerating :-)
Is it the heat? Can it be President Bush's course language at the G8 summit?
I am flabbergasted.
Soon we would fit right in with the drunk Dutch hooligan s at the LAlpe dHuez.
