Cell phone drivers are the most clueless, inconsiderate jerks on the road.

Not really. Dateline wants very much for me to believe that, but I can still think for myself.

It's amazing to see hordes of people leave the office, and the minute they're headed for the car... out comes the dopey-phone.

Why is it amazing? We are required to work so much that most people don't have much spare time any more. It's financially impossible for most families to have a stay at home spouse, and Americans enjoy the least amount of vacation time of any industrialized nation. So a lot of those people are calling family.

If someone is distracted and weaving, that's already against the law. We don't need another law specifically geared to catch people who actually can drive safely while talking.
