This is one of Jay Matternes' reconstructions of a neanderthal:

And this is an example of "non representatinoal art" from the Indus Valley civilization:

Matternes had no way of knowing how much the brow ridges would show on a live subject, and the forhead and jawline are identical. Somebody may have forgotten to tell the artists of Mohenjo Daro that neanderthals were supposed to have died out 40,000 years ago...

I think the youngest skeleton ever found is 27,000 years old.
