Baseball is a funny sport this way. There are SO MANY statistics that when something as quirky as an event like there being no saves for one entire day, it makes you think about how many games have been played between now and 1978....

The last time baseball went a complete day without a save was Sept. 15, 1978
Wow, that sure is interesting. Well, actually it's not and in fact, who the hell cares?
The game of baseball is overrun with meaningless statistics driven by tweebs who never played the game and fantasy league losers.

Tigers got a walk off win yesterday. If they had won today (they didn't) it would have been the first time since 1949 that they won 11 straight home games.

And the next day, Mariano Rivera gets his 400th save.

I don't see any blown saves...just games won by too many runs and complete games. Closest was the Angels-Royals, with Nolan Ryan blowing the CG.
