To: Wings-n-Wind

Yeah, I'm looking to keep my initial expenditures to $350. I just looked at a Remington 710 w/scope for $350 and a Savage 111 w/scope @ an outdoor's shop a few hours ago. Liked the look of them both, but I just don't know enough about game hunting rifles to choose between the two and I can't use my AR-15 for hunting in KS...heh

Yeah I bought a Remington 710 in a .270 and what a peice of CRAP!!! The locking device that holds the bolt in broke one year when i was shooting at a buck and the bolt fell out on the ground and the buck got away. Plus the gun is to heavy and the scope doesnt last. I only had the gun 1 year and got rid of it. As far as the Savage what a gun!! I just bought one in a .243 and I love it. Light weight, good price and accurate. Well do the smart thing and go with the Savage. If u want a Remington then spend the extra money to by a Model 700 and thats an EXCELLENT gun, very well built. Well hope this helps...-Tikka
