I agree that Mexico has a real problem with corruption and lack of property laws. Those are probably the biggest reasons why they don't have a good economy. Fox made some progress, and Calderon might make more.
Many of their immigration laws are tied into the corrupt system. Just a few years ago (and maybe still) foreigners couldn't buy property there without paying off a Mexican. I don't think we want that. Stifling the economy is not a good idea.
We need to make immigration laws based on what is best for our economy. That's all that matters. If America is prosperous, and each of us can thrive to the best of our ability, then I don't care if other countries have different laws or customs than we do.
