Wait. It gets better. From the Rocky Mountain News' version of the story (titled "Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to toke we go", which I guessed would get moved to chat on title alone) comes this:
As if Boulder isn't odd enough already, now it has bridge trolls.
Two men recently attempted to charge people a dollar to cross a bridge in a park near the intersection of Foothills Highway and Colorado Avenue and allegedly threatened to stab an off-duty sheriff's deputy with a broken golf club after he refused to pay.
Witnesses said they heard the two shouting lines from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail about how people "shall not pass."
Just a bit of humor for the morning.

Well, a blast from a stun gun could be considered a ZOT, of sorts;)

Were there any 'kitties' near the bridge?

Trip, trap, trip, trap.
Sounds like the troll was doing a little more tripping than trapping.

All they needed to do is send the biggest 3rd goat across. I thought that was the traditional remedy for a bridge troll.

That post would have gone SO much better if you'd have posted a pic of Darth Vader above it.

This is really the prototypical Boulder story. Sort of the Ur tale of the People's Republic.
First, the two zone out on some drug. Then they exhibit the kind of intellectual prowess for which Boulder is known by failing to provide themselves with ordinary fire. Then they try their crude entrepreneurial skills on a cop on a bike path. With a broken golf club.
Yep. That's Boulder.

Are they related to the Kennedy's?

Are they related to the Kennedy's? When a Kennedy runs off a bridge, he doesn't stay around (even if his passenger does).

It was sort of creative and it sounds like they didn't actually hurt anyone or damage any property. Still, they're in heaps of trouble, and it would have been a whole lot easier if they'd simply gone to the bridge and flagged people down and asked for a light. I suppose they realize that now that their hallucinogens have worn off.

I believe the off-duty sheriff's deputy was a kitty in disguise.
