The first civilian job my husband had after retiring from the military was as HR manager for a national security company, with a territory that was based in SA and covered an area from Austin to Brownsville. During the 5 years he worked there, the most outrageous example of inapporiate off-the-clock behavior he had to deal with was when he was called to Brownsville to make a determination in a sexual harrassment complaint, and alleged misuse of company equipment. The only bits of evidence he had were flyers allegedly made on the office copy machine inviting security guards and office personnel to a scavenger hunt that was the prelude to an orgy.
The "entertainment" was dreamed up by several guards and a receptionist while the manager of the operation was on vacation. According to the flyer, the scavenger hunt (which included items such as condoms and sex toys) was to be followed by a "party" at the home of a guard who lived out in the country. The event was held as scheduled, and as one of the female guards who had helped organize it was sneaked into her house by her lover and co-organizer, who also happened to be her supervisor, they were confronted by her furious husband. He had become suspicious when his wife had left in her uniform, supposedly to work her shift carrying a bag containing sexy lingerie and such. He grabbed her purse from her, found a flyer for the orgy inside, and went nuclear. In a panic, the woman said her supervisor had sexually harrassed her and forced her to have sex with him and take part in the orgy, threatening to fire her if she did not. She stuck to the story, and got other to do so to the point that a hearing had to be held, which was why hubby was there. After much frustration trying to get someone to really tell the truth, one of the female guards told hubby that the women in attendance had agreed to back up the other female guard's story so that their own involvement and illicit affairs would not come to light. My husband ended up having to terminate both the guard and her male supervisor for misuse of the copier, of all things, but at least her got rid of the ringleaders.
