Caffeine Crowbar for my Eyes

Coffee, so very black’n steaming hot
steam rising up from the chipped rim
as the first morning light dances upon
the spreading ripples around the spoon
and I pause a while, I’ll drink it soon
but right now I take a glance at dawn
as another day climbs from the dim
I’m happy gazing fondly on my cup
