That's interesting, I am offended by the cowardice of his "advice", though with a background in structural analysis I can see why he sniffed those methods out. I can also see why I find myself quite effective against lefty wackjobs.
1. I talk about things I know about (as a point of honor and self respect, not shooting off about things I don't understand) While he advises his people to talk about their expertise and manipulate others to not talk about their own (something I won't do in any case)
2. I have rules, but I will "X out" anyone who I see trying to take advantage of them. For such individuals, my own rules immediately become "null and void"
3. I "remove from my presence" anyone who is crass or engages in the "ridicule" Alinsky is so enamored with (he states there is "no defense", in fact, loss of access is the defense for this, it can be effected) They must show they are at least getting close to their target of ridicule, if they cannot, then they are just someone burping and mumbling in the corner, and no one respects that.
Otherwise I will look over these links when I have the time. I think I might write a point by point rebuttal to Alinsky's 12 rules (or however many there are). Thanks for bringing them up.
And no, it's not really directly related to the Lair, but around here a sidebar digression or two is not terminal, however a sustained change of direction is expected to be taken off line.
Cheers.
