Ah, Chanson D'Amour, excellent selection!

Well I feel one million and ten percent better now! My trip to the capital was, well, it was capital! It was like a hypnotist snapped his fingers and I suddenly awoke! I guess I was getting cabin fever in this little town, paying way too much attention to the slightest moves of silly people, much to their excitement, no doubt!

But in the capital it was lovely, there's a huge park, like 4 or 5 square blocks large, very nice. Huge pond, lot's of trees. I always walk through it and eat at the McDonald's on the other side.

Then there's a lovely brick paved shop-lined showcase street near the train station which is fun to stroll down and sit and drink one of the many kinds of tea they drink here (red tea, green tea, milk tea, papaya milk tea, etc. etc.)

Walking through the underpass takes you to the back of the train station where there is a very large 11 story modern (air conditioned!) shopping mall, with a super market, Internet cafe, cinema, and of course, Starbucks (plus a local coffee shop chain on the other side that's not too bad).

Needless to say you can easily wile away the hours doing all this, with a good sized crowd milling about with you the entire time.

Really dwarfs the small town sycophants who are (by the time you're in the capital) a good two hour drive away anyway! Easy to forget them, hard to remember them.

And I saw Superman Returns. It was a good show. Kind of serious. The characters were not overly compelling, but none of them ruined the movie either. The special effects were the best I've ever seen. Absolutely top of the line. At one point Superman is contending with a plummeting jet full of people as it speeds towards the earth burning and splitting apart. It looked so real! I was twisting and turning in my seat!

All in all, a darn good show. Then I had a beer or two at a Thai restaurant I know down town (even though I don't drink anymore (wink wink!)). Then caught the bus home. To top off the great day, the bus was literally brand new. It even had that new car smell. The seats were better than the furniture in my apartment! Very pleasant two hour trip to top off a full day of being back in the real world.

Spending what little time remains here seems just like a meaningless formality, which is just how I'd love it to be!

I've packed up too, so I just have to grab two bags then walk out the door! Just say "when"! ;-)
