Peter Cetera is not a wuss: He's a badass bassist and has written some of the greatest rock lyrics and music such as 25 or 6 to 4 and Feeling Stronger Everyday (which is a really funny song in a dark way IMO). Also generally made some nasty sounds with Robert Lamm that impressed the hell out of Jimi Hendrix et al. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking of their great cover of "I'm The Man"



It guess he wussified later in life as he got older, a little tired, and found religion (I think). I know a number of Born-again guys that wished they could sing a duet with Amy Grant telling her "the next time I fall it will be with you."

You are thinking of the late, great Terry Kath who was their guitarist. Chicago totally went downhill after his tragic death.
