In the modern era (post free agency) the Wanks have won 6 World Series and lost 4. 21 of their WS wins came over 40 years ago or longer. Who cares what they did back then?

Thank you for proving my point. They have been in ten and won six. Most teams from the "modern era" haven't even seen one world series win let alone an appearance. Sorry, you made my point. Another thing, outside of the eighties, the Yankees have won a world series in every decade since the 20's. I would call that consistency and dominance. Of course haters call that being unfair, but I really don't care.
