Too late for my late coon hound Cassie, who died 3 years ago. What a great dog she was...and HUGE. She weighed 150 pounds and her shoulder came up to my waist.
She used to try to get in my lap. LOL! I would have to have my daughter rescue me because I couldn't get up. Oh, I miss her!

Condolences on the loss of your Cassie.
Have you thought about another coon hound? Maybe not the exact same type, because you hate to put unrealistic expectations on a young pup. . . .
