Well, I went to google. In google, I entered the following search:

Katrina Vanden heuvel hijacked airplane 1978

In other words, what we were looking for.

I can't vouch for it's accuracy. On that page, you can use ctrl-F, and search for the word "hijack". You will find the text I pasted here.

My post wasn't so much meant to provide proof, as to say that if you use the web you will likely find enough information to show she didn't make up the story. I think it's good though to question everything these people say

I'm not sure the Wikopedia entry mentioned it, but I didn't look at it much.
