In my case, you are 'way off base. I am not opposed to international trade. But unlike you Left Coast immigrants, my chunk of Texas was awarded by the Republic of Texas to my ancestor for service at the battle of San Jacinto, when Texians kicked Santa Ana's murdering @$$ -- and those of his hired assassins -- out of Texas.

It should not surprise you that my neighbors (those on the surrounding "leagues and labors" [look it up] of land) and I do not look kindly upon an under-the-table scheme to take our families' lands and hand them over to a profiteering company -- foreign or not.

We Texans have fought for the right to our "xenophobic protectionism". If you don't like it -- leave!

I deal with leagues and labors every single day, so don't patronize me, and don't request that I leave the state, you jerk.

Eminent Domain existed well before San Jacinto. Look it up.

In fact, I have (as far back as the late 1950's) examined sections of the Texas State Budget in excruciating detail. (Rick Perry is not the first slimy b@$t@rd to occupy the Governor's office.)

Have you examined the budget? Would you even know how to obtain a copy?

Stop your own charade. Leave Texas to Texans -- and butt out.

That was not a request. It was a recommendation.

Yes, I peruse the budget every two years. Every time a new one is enacted.

And don't try to out-Texan me, pal.

Texas has seceded? What else did I miss over the holiday?

Dog Gone: And don't try to out-Texan me, pal.

No "try". You were the one who was born in California...

~~~~~~
1rudeboy: Texas has seceded?
Yep. From Mexico, ca 1836. Go study 7th-grade history...
That's enough. I am bored of toying with you two lightweight TXDOT shills... Fin.
Don't patronize me, you freak. Why don't you go study the U.S. Constitution?
How much is Mexico paying on this project? It surely ought to be 50/50, since they are our "partners", according to our President. And let's not forget the cost of checking thousands of vehicles for drugs and illegals.
If you want to start that precedent, get ready to pay half the costs for roads leading to new Wal-Marts in Mexico.
The funny thing is that foreigners are going to pay 100% of the cost of the new toll road in Texas. And you guys can't figure out whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Either way, it's bad. LOL.
You wasting your breath on these people. (or at least your fingers) They think that anyone who is concerned about sovereignty or landgrabs is a conspiracy nut, a racist and a Bush-hater. I would like to know what REALLY drives their opinion and why they must resort to petty childishness and name calling, in order to hide their real intent.
Me? I do it for entertainment. It's fun to slap-around people who think they're experts, but only manage to sound ridiculous. The whimpering is a bonus.
I want to add that I've reviewed my comments on this thread, and the worst I did was use the word "freak," and only after some "petty childishness and name calling" in my direction. Let me ask, why are the same folks so sensitive to the above usually the first to engage in it? Untenable rhetorical positions, or simply insufficient mental wattage?
I was referring to some earlier threads on the subject and not nessarily to you in particular. For future reference; I'm not a conspricy-nut (at least not as much as I was in my youth), a racist or a xenophobe. I'm just a Texan in search of the truth about the future of my great state and country.
The real funny thing is that our governments are going to take land from U.S. citizens on behalf of those foreigners. That's okay too, right? Yep. A real scream.
As long as you don't want any more land taken from any citizen for any new road in the country ever again, you would be logically consistent.
Is that your position? No more new roads ever? We're done?
No, the real scream is imagining the Spaniards shipping the road back to themselves in Europe. LOL
I can't believe it. Texas finds someone else other than its own taxpayers to build and operate a road (for 50 years), and folks complain that it's not their money being used.
