Thierry and Ribery both nailed some shots on goal. Close call for Portugal.

The people complaining about all the things wrong with soccer miss the most obvious positive -- we don't have to suffer 50 interruptions of play with commercials.

The World Cup game yesterday was so good, with such amazing skills on display, that it has made the whole tournament worthwhile.

The most intensity I've seen so far as well as being the best game overall. The first goal was a thing of beauty.

Today's game OTOH...

You have so much hate against the Brazilian team. Of course in any sport the team with the best record is always hated by the weaker ones, that is just a human nature.

Miguel's dive today is worse than Maniche last time. They're even more shameless than the Italians, if that is possible.

I don't hate Brazil. They give fresh hope to fat old people all over the world.

“Maybe he was hoping to turn in his extra red and yellow cards for a green card.”

Ha!

‘Fraid I’m not with you on the Arsenal jibes. They’re not my team but I prefer them to the Spuds. My brother’s a Spurs fan though, for his sins.

Miguel with a fine run and skill before suffering a brutal tackle by sharded grass.

Miguel dives for Portugal. Portugese players mob the ref, just like they did in the England match.

The more time runs off, the more dives Portugal will take, especially near the box.

I wonder if Scolari coaches diving.

Fact is that the Brazilian fans themselves booed Ronaldo off the field more than once. This Brazil team was a major disappointment.

Apparently McDonalds is why Ronaldo acquired his name. The nickname is a reference to Ronald McDonald.

Looks like Miguel twisted his knee. Did anyone get that grass' number?

At least Spurs still employ some English players.

What amaze me about the English fans is that they really hope in every world cup that they are going to win, when their record is a miserable one, only one cup in 1966, and they cheated Germany to win. You guys are delusional.

Exactly how did England cheat Germany in 1966?

You are almost certainly correct, although the real Ronald McDonald is more nimble on his feet.
