The endgame here is an integrated economic space with virtually open or open borders and total portability of labor. Not a political merger. Thats why articles like this are worthy of ridicule even when those that ridicule it most viciously are usually either in denial or disingenuous. Many of them would defend a non political merger.

This is not what's being sold to the American people. Don't you think that maybe we the people ought to be consulted and told plainly what is at the bottom of twenty million "undocumented workers" with more on the way?

We've been told that the problem is just to big. They can't patrol such an enormous border, and anyway we can't deport 20 million people.

When do you think we might hear from an elected official, "the endgame here is an integrated economic space with virtually open or open borders and total portability of labor"?

How do you think that'll go over right before the upcoming elections? Do you think everyone will be relieved that it's not a "political merger"?
