I'm Sorry for Being a Marry Maniac; Star Bares Her Bridezilla Regret (extortion an inside joke)
NY Post ^ | July 1, 2006 | DON KAPLAN

Star Jones Reynolds conceded yesterday on the "Today" show that she "abused" her celebrity status when planning her over-the-top nuptials two years ago. Jones' 2004 wedding to Al Reynolds became a joke among TV-industry types as she blatantly squeezed wedding vendors to provide their services for free in exchange for promising to mention them on "The View" and in magazine articles about her.

In the months leading up to the wedding, she even argued on air with her co-hosts about the guest list....At the wedding itself, she allegedly tried to take a camera from co-host Joy Behar because Jones had promised exclusive pictures to People magazine.

Jones yesterday said she didn't realize that her antics had stirred up so much animosity.....While not specifically singling out the wedding, ABC brass has said it was Jones' off-camera escapades that soured her image among viewers and convinced them not to renew her contract.....ABC specifically singled out how Jones handled her dramatic weight loss, never admitting that she had undergone what appeared to be gastric-bypass surgery.

Jones now claims she has always been honest about how a "medical intervention" was the reason she was able to drop more than 150 pounds in a matter of months back in 2003.

What about Star's book on the glories of dieting? Oprah better get on this----ever since Winfrey got burned by a faked bio, she's been outing falsified books.

A view of the extorted nuptials.
Hope Al didn't strain himself hoisting his plump bride into the marriage bed.

"I was a 40-year-old who, according to urban legend, had a better chance of being kidnapped by a terrorist than getting married, and I was caught in the euphoria.

She was safe, either way. At that time, it would have required too many terrorist to carry her off and all of them would not fit into the abduction vehicle, anyway.

Ha, there is just not room up there at the top for 'STAR', now where was ABC when the Clintons perfected these antics.

Remember alllll those 'gifts' the Clintons collected.

Maybe if she got her mouth stapled shut, we'd all be better off.

I understand Al had to drag her away from the ham and biscuits.

Star's midnight snack.

Didn't you just love the way Star went into "victim mode." Once she was on her way out the ABC door, she switched on the "victim" button faster than you can say "supersize me. "

Hey that is the liberal way, maybe we ought to make her a "STAR"!!!! I would not mind seeing old Barbs mouth contorted a bit more.

Star has gotten the message, last I heard she is back in the bowing to Barbs position. We shall see just how forgiving old Barbs will be.

Star figured out she was on the road to Nowheresville attacking ABC and Bwabwa---people who can really hurtcha. Star is an airhead not only for her obliviousness to the bridal extortions but for going on the attack.

I am not going to disagree, however, STAR was selected and groomed by these liberal elite and STAR was only doing what she had been taught. She just did not understand that she was there for appearance sake not a reallllll STAR.

See were she really a "STAR" allllll this gift getting would have been done for her not by her.

I'm really torn here. On one hand, we have your typical camera hog, Star. Relatively harmless, typical diva. OTOH, we have Baba Wawa. Not harmless, typical America loathing, rat liberal. People here have said that Star is the same, but not on the level of Bababa, imo.

I was a little shocked to learn the show has been on air for almost 10 years. I watched about 15 minutes of it once. I made the mistake of turning the channel too early to catch the local news >:P

Won't it be fun to see Rosie on that show? I predict that ratings will plummet faster than Star's weight.

Don't watch it---ever. However, if they thought they had diva problems before, wait til Rosie starts throwing "her" weight around (pun intendeed).

LOL----too late for her to shut up. Star blabbed and blabbed and blabbed. Too bad she did not know the rules of the game---you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Suzanne Somers learned the hard way---when she got fired (after her husband tried to extort a huge salary), she whined and blabbed all over the place. Couldn't get a TV job for ten years.

Oh God. I just might just start watching it a month into the next season, just to see her and Joy rip into each other, because neither one can keep a civil tongue in their heads. I remember when Rosie ripped into Tom Selleck, years ago.

"More donuts, dammit"!!!(production staffers hide under desks and weep-Star brought her own)

Can you imagine the cat fights behind the scenes---the self-absorbed divas all jockeying for top dog position.

I would not want to tangle with Behar or Rosie on or off the air, for love nor money.
