The only thing that saved Juan on the foul was that Roberto Carlos was right there. If he wasn't Juan is gone.

Still no replay of Zidane from a wide lens on the play that sprung Viera.

We'll see what happens with half-time adjustments. My bet is not adjustable and remains on France.

Brazil showed some flashes early then France just shut it down.

Wow what a half of footie.

Who says a 0-0 deadlock is boring? France is looking to make it a Euro-only semi-final round. With the way they are playing they look much more dangerous than Brasil.

Probably way premature, but whose GK is better at penalties?

You´ve said it yesterday, and you may very well be right.

Precursor to the final?

We have the two most recent World Cup winners on the pitch. I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd bet they're both pretty good.

I'm happy and confident to have Barthez in goal.

Well, the boy in the German jersey wears socks to the sandals, by coincidence??

I just think Wynalda is so arrogant as to cloud his judgement and ability to talk about what happened and what might happen -- instead he spouts off his own anger-tinged opinions about peoples' motives all the time.

Lalas called Rooney a "thug," so he went up a few notches in my book for that.

Balboa isn't really offending me, even if he occasionally states the obvious. There are plenty of novices out here watching, so it's not the worst thing. Plus I have heard plenty of player insight from him over the last two weeks.

Wynalda is the only one that I consistently scratch my head at. I don't know why he's so angry and spiteful so often.

This may be the only time I'd ever give the edge to Brazil's keeper. If it goes to PKs he's better suited than Barthez who is less mobile/athletic.

Thanks ... England seemed to carry the better of the play in Game 1, yet it came down to do PK's and the Portuguese keeper stoned them. France looks a lot better here, but it wouldn't be surprising if it goes the distance again.

Is Barthez really the best the French can do?

I'm not equipped to answer that question. I don't find fault with him, except maybe his age.
