The English fans at the Dog and Fox (Wimbledon) are shown all busily texting away on their cells, waiting for extra time to start.

What a jackass that Rooney is. The card was totally deserved, imo.. refs can't watch a guy do that and NOT red card him. There's no room for that crap in international play.
So thanks to Rooney's inability to control himself, he's left his team a man down. [shaking head]

Hargreaves and Terry have been the best players for England in this match as far as I can tell.
That was a great run and cross, too bad they couldn't convert.

Anyway, another half-hour of extra time.Technically, two fifteens, right?

Right, but there shall be no break between the change of sides after 15 min.

I wasn't convinced it was intentional. Do you think Rooney put that foot there on purpose?

I only meant to stress that if someone leads at the end of the first fifteen, they don't play the second.

Indeed! Two half-times, but other than during the regular game there is usually no injury time given by the ref.

No, it´s 30 minutes. The rule you mentioned is called "silver goal" and is abolished as well as the golden goal.

If one side leads after 15, it's over, do I have that right?

It looked like a stomp to me, yeah.
The 30-minute overtime is divided only so they can swap goals. There's no break, and they play the full :30 (even if someone scores in the first :15).

Couldn't agree with you more. The BBC are trying to make excuses but he stamped on the guy a yard from the ref.
Most obvious red card of the WC.

No. That concept is called the "silver goal", it was tried during the 90s, but the reverted to the old scheme.

England´s not getting out of its own half. It looks like handball - the attackers surround the defenders at the circle.
