(Myrtle Beach-AP) June 28, 2006 - The rock band KISS is now pitching coffee in Myrtle Beach. The first KISS Coffeehouse features KISS Vanilla, Demon Dark Roast and Rockuccino.
Band members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons greeted hundreds of people Tuesday to mark the opening. Their appearance did not include their trademark makeup.
Fans started lining up at 6am to meet Stanley and Simmons, who weren't scheduled to show until 8:30pm, according to KISS' website.
The two band members drove up in a stretch limousine and shook hands with fans as they made their way to a news conference and receiving line.
Some fans drove from as far away as Colorado and Oregon and one came all the way from Poland.
The KISS Coffeehouse is hardly a bohemian hangout for arty types. It's a shiny silver and neon building flanked on either side by giant platform boots.
Stanley says Myrtle Beach was the best place to start the business.
KISS threads come about once a year. They are great fun.
I saw KISS live in 1977 in B'ham, AL. My ears are still ringing.
Do they put the coffee in a Plaster Caster?
Didja see the chick sitting on the bench?
She looks like my ex, only skinnier.
I think they call that their "Firehouse" blend.
Location please.
The coffee fanatics in the house would love to give it a try the next time we're down there.
Everybody says she's lookin' good, and the lady knows it's understood.
