Here's the differece between the USA and most of the world in sports--in most of the world, soccer is pretty much it when it comes to organized sports for a whole country. This isn't like the USA, where these major sports--American football, baseball and basketball, and to a lesser extent hockey--compete for the best athletes and fan support.
