"This is really quite exciting, I must say."
The nail in the coffin by Zidane!
3-1. It's France vs Brazil next.
Vive Zidane!
Vive Barthez!
Allez Bleues!
Rematch of the 1998 cup.
Thanks for the buzzkill.
;O)
"The ref in this game looks a little like a younger, slimmer (and hopefully less pompous) Alec Baldwin."
Did you hear that interchange between Baldwin and Sean Hannity and Mark Levin recently? Baldwin ranting "you're just a former construction worker, Hannity". Nice to know these guys have such a high opinion of ordinary folk, isn't it?
3-1 France Final Whistle. Wanted Spain to win but, on their 2nd half show, France deserved it.
And also Germany-Argentina is another rematch. All 6 former cup winners made it to the Final 8.
Great match. And the ref isn't the game for a change.
The French surprised me. And they have a mental edge over the Brazilians on European soil.
"Spain choke earlier than expected."
Nah, going out to Brazil wouldn't have been classed as a choke.
This counts!
Drinks are on us tonight then :o)
This game was a rematch of the Euro 1984 final.
With the same outcome.
Only then, I supported France :-)
I may have to root for Les Bleus against Brazil.
Spain and Holland, two perennial underachievers, are the only big names not to make it through to the quarters --
Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Portugal, France and England all through
Only outsiders left are Ukraine. Not been such a top quality quarter finals for a long time, although it means not much in way of heroics for underdogs...
England and France don't really count with the other big boys.
My money is on Argentina.
If France and Germany meet in the semis, could we have a repeat of the 82 semis, still the greatest game ever in WC History?
A Euro team is going to win it in Europe. Go with the hosts.
"My money is on Argentina"
I have to agree. Though Italy seem to keep doing just enough in their inimitable style. They haven't greatly impressed me, but I wouldn't write them off.
If Germany beat Argentina, then they'll probably do it. But it's still a big if...
Can't happen.
The semi-final is England/Portugal v Brazil/France.
