I'm not crying. I'm laughing at a homer who is unable to admit the obvious.

Aussies can't complain anyway. They had 11 v. 10 and still couldn't score. No sympathy for the bloody convicts. With England's current injury situation they'll win the Ashes back very soon anyway and nobody in Australia will care about football unless it's Australian Rules.

"They'll win .. " was referring to the Aussies from the previous sentences. My wording on that sentence was almost as bad as the England bowling against Sri Lanka in the current ODI series.

Anyone who can hold Sri Lanka to six runs an over is welcome to play in the fourth ODI in place of Mah-ten-runs-an-over-mood.

The worse you can say is that the offensive player allowed the obstruction to be seen more clearly for its error.

That's about the size of it. Obstruction has been correctly called in the tournament unlike the inconsistency of other calls.

I also can't stand their commericals with that song that goes, "This is Budweiser, this is beer". It pretty much gives me a headache whenever I hear it.

"This is Budweiser, this is beer".

Could have fooled me.

Backing away from your "no dive" story would be wise. Maybe you have hope after all.

Okay, 30 minutes to next match. I'm going to reach for one Stella Artois.
It's the perfect beer when your fellow freepers whine.

Giles looks done for the Ashes and Vaughn might also miss the trip. Simon Jones is already ruled out. Freddie is not healthy right now either, but he should be OK.

The spectacle of the Aussie fans abusing Monty Panesar's horrible fielding is a frightening one. England need McGrath to step on another ball.

Hey, to be fair, if Italy was not playing Australia, I would have been rooting for them, so you can count me in that whining group :)

Seems like the Aussies are getting into the soccer culture:

"A flare was let off by a member of the crowd and landed on the roof of a building adjacent to the stage.

As fans began to make their way out of the area one man yelled "let's start a riot"."

Maybe we should go try out. Except I'm not British, so that won't work. Speaking of work, that is what my legspinner and googly need.

So far all of the group winners have advanced -- Germany, England, Portugal, Italy and Argentina. If that holds, then Switzerland, Brazil and Spain will join them.

Out of those eight, which one is the clear outsider? Surely Switzerland! So I am pulling for them. How sweet would it be to see Switzerland beat Italy!!

"This is Budweiser, this is beer"

As long as they're referring to two different things, then it's ok... :)

I hear you and with you on the beer. Didn't mean to impugn your honor either.

It's hard for the Aussies but they have to look at themselves. They didn't create the great chances that Italy did. Think their best effort was one header.

I never understood the idea of some "fans" to declare nuclear war on their own city if they win or lose a sports match.

All these red cards and yellow cards and rioting fans and diving Italians and yet no chick pics. Have they been red carded too? If so then the refs HAVE gone too far!!

I don't think diving on the pitch takes too much testosterone.

I'd love to see someone put together a video of diving players with some ballet music.

BTW:

Why is everyone saying that Switzerland are the favourites tonight?

Ukraine should IMHO be the better team.

I guess we will soon find out.
