Ramones are awesome. don't get me wrong . . . but no perfect albums come to mind. again = an album where there are no skip-able tracks, not greatest hits or compilation album.

Springsteen is good although he's a commie traitor scum, but his albums are also padded with filler tracks.

C'mon............................

were you at any Boss concerts in the 70's & 80's?

I was at dozens................

I don't recall any politics - and then as now I don't care.

ROCK or leave - I don't care who you vote for.

Of course you're probably too young (looking) to really remember these two..................

(That's my story! :') )

Some Springsteen filler tracs were some of my favs........

i.e. "Meeting Across the River"

Rumors (Fleetwood Mac) 80's: Pyromania (Def Leppard)

Those would make my list too.

Animals is a good album.I've been listening to Wish You Were Here, and it dawned on me that PF has pretty much made a career(or a major part)writing and performing songs about mental illness ala Syd Barrett.

Went into a record shop once and asked if they had any Van Morrison. The kid showed me where the Doors albums were.

Your list is great, bit I would add:
Frampton comes alive (not heard from before or since BTW)
Hotel California (Eagles)
Star Wars soundtrack
Eliminator (ZZ Top)
Made In Japan (Deep Purple)

End the list at 1990 (and I am being generous).

Even in my teen years I felt the same way . . .

I had a hard time conceptualizing the

BEST ROCK album

Then I realized why.

The best ROCK album for me

is the one most closely approximating 100% silence.

Not quite "perfect", but pretty close is Jackon Browne's Runnin' on Empty

Nirvana was simply people mistaking a lack of talent for genius.

Yeah, I got into Cake recently, too. I always liked the song Going the Distance but didn't realize how good their other stuff was. As it turns out, they are a truly cool band. The guitar player has a raggedy lo-fi tone that I find appealing and I really like his old-school rockabillyesque chops. I had Fashion Nugget in my car and listened to it repeatedly for about a month.
