Some light, funny reading is anything by Carl Hiassen.
I also enjoy all of Harlan Coben's books. Lots of twists and turns.

if you want some "deep thoughts"...
"The Question of God" by Armand Nicolai, Jr.
Nice comparison/contrast of Freud's materialist worldview with C.S. Lewis'
perspective of spirituality.
Contains some interesting aspects of each man's life.
Anyway, the Harvard course that the book is based on is often standing-
room-only.

Great read. A page turner about building the Chicago's World Exposition and America's first serial killer. Not graphic, just historic and very well written.

DO NOT GET THIS ONE. Nick Tosches touts this book as an historical work of the life of Arnold Rothstien, a Jewish New York Gangster of the 1920's. Instead it a confusing book with little to no linear thought. For a "biography" not to have at least a somewhat linear organization? Only about a third of the book is dedicated to the main character, the rest is a poorly formulated argument against the Deity of God and opinions of current events (i.e., the Iraq War) which were never attempted by the author to tie in significantly to the "biography." The book is pointless. Pass it up unless you need a book to justify veggin' out in front of the T.V. A waste of a week. I will avoid Tosches from here on out.
