Wow!!

What a massive disappointment!!!

This World Cup was so frustrating for us. The team never found its footing. Silly mistakes put us behind in every game. Blame for our performances can be spread around to all - refs, players and coaches. Yeah, Arena made some questionable choices in tactics (I hate 4-5-1) but its frustrating when experienced players make dumb errors (i.e. Bocanegra not clearing the ball, and Reyna getting stripped) that cost you.

Well, I am at a loss for words. I am disappointed and upset......and all I can do is look forward now and hope for some changes for the better

Well, maybe this will put a bullet in the notion that the US can beat anyone outside of CONCACAF with a team loaded with 140 lb ballerinas.

Changes won't matter. Teams are going back to watch the video just like they have been and they will see how they can get away with being savage and the refs biased against the US. From watching this tape they will learn they can lay all over the field and get away with that too.

It's frustrating because Americans come into a thread like this with "soccer sucks" attitude and we are still all excited and then when the games are actually played all we see is savages, dives, acting, atrocious biased refs, and now Ghana being allowed to lay all over the field effectively shutting down the whole flow of what a soccer match is and ending the game in the 70th minute.

Then we wonder why Americans say soccer sucks? If all saw was this atrociously officiated and the savage and ridiculous laying around by Ghana I would swear soccer sucks too.

Oh well. Time to recover. What a load of BS.

Ghana is not a bad team at all! Losing 2-1 to them is not a disgrace, especially when the PK was bogus.

Both Ghana goals were the result of horrible misplays on our side.

This was a tough group. OK, the FIFA ratings are full of holes, but how must the Czechs feel ranked 2nd in the world and finishing 3rd in the group?

Ghana was screwed by the referee today also -- the yellow on Essien was garbage, and now Ghana won't have their best player against Brazil. (I hate the yellow card accumulation for a suspension anyway -- a dubious card like that and you miss a game? Stupid ).

Clearly we were not treated well by the officials in this tournament, but the bottom line is we were definitely the fourth-best team in this tough group. I think all four teams are better than Mexico, for example.

Scoring 1 goal in three games is pretty dismal....especially when you watch all the other good teams....

Who kept saying this was the best national team in history?
