The U.S. national team goes into Thursday's Group E finale against Ghana (9:55 a.m. ET, ESPN) knowing that it must come up with a win to have any chance of moving to the Round of 16.
All four teams in Group E, including the USA, still have a chance to advance. The U.S. must beat a tough Ghana side to have any chance of moving to the knockout phase. Should Bruce Arena's team be able to secure three points against the Africans, whom they meet at 9:55 a.m. ET on ESPN, they will need Italy to beat the Czech Republic in a simultaneous match, which can be seen live on ESPN2. The U.S. is not mathematically eliminated with a Czech draw or win, but will need a big victory over Ghana to avoid being eliminated on goal difference.

Huh????
DANG! Ghana goal.
Ghana - 2
USA - 1
I missed the penalty...I watched it twice and I didn't see it. Was it a correct call?
Refs ruining another game!
Czechs are really going to push to tie Italy now, with the US-Ghana match tied.
I wouldn't say I "called" the Italy goal, but I hope this doesn't mean the Czechs will score next.
I hope the tie in the US-Ghana match will motivate Italy to put the Czechs away.
CZR is down to ten men!
I didn't see the foul, was it valid?
The shot was amazing, textbook penalty kick
Dumb play by the US defender, he should have just played it safe and given Ghana the throw-in.
No.
I didn't see it either. :(
Balboa throwing the US under the bus...calling it a mistake.
No. That was the worst penalty call I have ever seen.
What happened to give us the foul?
OK, forget everything I just said.
FIFA must have hired NBA referees.
Oh! That was a question..so? They aren't down to 10 men on the field?
The penalty kick awarded to Ghana was ridiculous. I just watched it again and I still don't see the damn penalty.
Sheesh!
You here Coach? Looked like we were going for the ball.
In my opinion it was not a correct call. But it was not a card, so no danger of the U.S. going down a man because of it. The ref called a foul on the U.S. in the penalty box, but on the replay I just couldn't see the foul.
