I see real potential in suing hispanic only speaking bureaucrats, businesses -
Use the template they have used
It's hardly "fair" for hispanics to discriminate against German or Swedish or Italian or......

I am sick of seeing the signs above produce at the grocery store in Spanish.

"(Which is why it passed.)"It did not pass. And I would have to check the rest of your assertions. I was there. But it's too late, and I'm tired.

But if I can't understand or comunicate with them, I can't exterminate for them.Oh come on now. Did the Nazis have a hard time exterminating for those who spoke Yiddish?
Sorry. Bad joke. I won't do it again.

Insist they provide a translator. Then use that really potent bug spray.
New version of Raid--contains Tabasco sauce.

I don't come right out and say anything like what you're proposing. I do, however, have a policy of simply not having time to go see certain people and phone screening is probably the first line of defense. Most of the people I won't go see come from cultures where price-haggling and trying to change the terms of the agreement in the middle of the job are normal. It can take the form of them insisting on additional work for free or trying to cut down the amount of the final payment. Of course, there are homegrown Americans who will do the same things, but it's actually prevalent among those from foreign cultures. My last experience with it all was after I had ripped out this one guy's entire bathroom getting ready to replace it all, he got squirrelly about the money. I was at a point where I didn't owe him any more work and I just left his stuff sitting there and never went back.

How did things work out with your sign. I made it a point to stop at a convenient store that had a sign that said "American Owned - We Speak English". They didn't seem to loose business but it was out in the country. I deal with city folk.

Actually I put it in ads for small community/counties phone books and newsletter type applications. Not every one commented on it....those that did loved it.
Of course, I'm sure a few didn't call because of it. Who cares It's my business and like Sinatra...I'll do it my way!
HC....hope your feeling better. We got flyer down at Ben Taub.

I want to say that "hable" is 2nd person imperative...so you're telling the recipient of the card to not speak Spanish...
I agree that "hablo" is more diplomatic -- 1st person indicative -- you'd be telling the recipient of the card that you don't speak Spanish.

I don't care if they are Mexican or not.I have nothing against any race. I call Hispanics Mexicans because here in Houston that's usually what they are. "Hispanics" is not really a real word is it?
