Didn't someone post stuff here that there was people who were charged with murder in Durham that had lower bonds than the Duke boys? I think "the state" just wants to hold on to the money as long as possible and make interest on it.

Along this line, I have been wondering what is the highest bail that has ever been set in Durham, and for what crime. Anyway to find this out???

That's true. Back in April (or May), bond was set at $50K for a defendant accused of murder in a gang related slaying.
