it indicates a successful fad, and skill at spinning bad business decisions into "positions" that appease one's particular audience, among other things. I do call that spineless. Selling out, in fact.
Expect great future sellouts from the Whole Foods crowd. Then expect them to sell out their shareholders, when it suits them to.
In 1996 the Whole Foods stock was selling at $6.00 a share and closed Friday at $62.18. BTW the stock has split twice since 2001.
Does not appear to be a Fad to me.
