(laughing) You have got to be kidding. Have you ever truly witnessed a consistent "hurry-up" offense in the NFL? Those "highly engineered" freaks of nature are ready to pass out after three quick plays. "Coach, sub me out, I need some oxygen!"

NFL: A league developed for those convenient commercial breaks -- every 10 minutes.

Now, if the NFL were to go back to the days when they had to field the same players for offense and defense you might have a point. However, since those days are long gone, your point of NFL players having more endurance is not only comical, but highly delusional.

As far as hits are concerned, take off the pads, champ. You want to show how manly you are? Take a hit without a helmet - think Rugby or Australian Rules Footy. Last I looked, one of the fastest ways to knock somebody out was with an elbow to the head - check your local listing for Pride Fighting and UFL for a demo.

Listen, I enjoy a playoff game and the Super Bowl as much as anyone.
But please take your football, your 300 pound plus steroid lineman and your human growth hormones to another thread.

Thanks so much.

In all fairness to this thread:

American football is about brute force, speed, and hitting lines (and ball carriers). A defense, once it stops the progress of an offense, leaves the field.

Soccer is a more "diplomatic", not-as-much-contact sport in which two slowly moving sides do not get the benefit of a deadball count, as action is rarely halted.

It's like comparing the physical fitness of bears versus cougars. Both survive, and both thrive.

And, for the record, I love them both.
