The U.S. national team faces a must-win situation Saturday against Italy (2:30 p.m. ET, ABC). The U.S. lineup could see some changes, including adding Eddie Johnson. Czech Republic and Ghana play earlier in the day (11:30 a.m., ABC), while Portugal advanced by beating Iran 2-0.

The US has to play to win. It's as simple as that. You can't stop the other teams from listening in on radio.
The US needs a win and you hope for the best. Nothing more.
Ghana will be providing plenty enough of a challenge.
You haven't seen a soccer player benchpress 200 pounds.
Let me introduce you to Guch.
Besides, it doesn't sound like you hang out with soccer players.
It sounds like you hang out with 300 pound plus guys who have needles hanging out of their asses.
Cuz we all know how normal it is for so many people to weigh 300 plus pounds.
Yeah, I identify with those guys sticking needles in their asses.
What great athletes they are when they don't collapse on the field and drop dead.
That's some great athleticism.
Miami(Fla) and USC (aka university of second choice) are "intellectual powerhouses"? that has as much credibility as Howard dean saying he supports tax cuts. Sheesh.
Perhaps FIFA should come up with logistical plans to facilitate this in the future, but its too late for this year. Anyway, the teams knew the schedule before the tournament started. All the football associations in the world are members of FIFA. They can lobby for stuff like this before the tournament begins.
US can't complain about the simultaneous time scheds. It's too late as you said for that.
Just go out and make us proud. Again!
It is not that simple. If the US goes up by two or more goals, watch how content CZE will be to settle for that 0-0 tie with ITA, and the US goes home. Of course we have to win, and it won't be easy against Ghana. But if we go up by two or more goals, the final result will be the same as a loss. We have to get this win *shrewdly*, otherwise, we'll forfeit our chance to make it to the next round.

If you want some help, I could try to step in when you are gone.
You made it such a please to follow the tour last year!
Well, thank you... I appreciate your compliments. I'll know soon what kind of time I'll have in July, then send a Freepmail to everyone on my TDF list. Perhaps I can do it with some "backup" help. I appreciate your offer, and I had several offers of help last year also when I was gone for some days in July.
LOL! ;-D
And hockey players are goofs? Try fighting for a puck blancing on 1/8" of steel and getting around sombody who is about to bounce you off a hard wall. Do this and let me know what you think soccer boy
Now, stop this silly intra-sport fighting.
Most kids in Scandinavia, like Peter Forsberg, grow up doing two things: Soccer in summer, Hockey in winter.
They are both great sports. I actually played at a higher level in hockey, than I ever did in soccer.
IMHO, soccer and hockey have got a hell of alot in common.
The most silly thing, is off course that I was absolutely convinced it was this year. I had already written it into my calendar :-)
It's important not to forget that if that happens, the Czechs would get Brazil in the round of 16. I think there's enough incentive for them to play to win.
If you think you need more endurance in football than soccer you are completely nuts. You get way more breaks, water, and are on the field far less time than in soccer. But you are entitled to your opinion. And opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has them. BTW I love football as well. Go Cowboys & Fighting Irish!
Umm.....better make that a co'beer.
The only sports I do NOT like are golf, tennis and racing. Baseball is ok but I prefer basketball, soccer, football, and hockey in that order.
PS Go Canes! Going to watch them win it all tonight at a friend's house right now actually.
That the Czechs would want to avoid Brazil is a most excellent point.
Having said that, Forza Italia!
