The U.S. national team faces a must-win situation Saturday against Italy (2:30 p.m. ET, ABC). The U.S. lineup could see some changes, including adding Eddie Johnson. Czech Republic and Ghana play earlier in the day (11:30 a.m., ABC), while Portugal advanced by beating Iran 2-0.

Thank you, Ghana. The United States is once again in control of its own destiny, for the moment.
Nice job by Ghana! Lots of missed chances in the second half, but they really controlled play nevertheless.
Am I the only one who saw a Ghanian player flying Israeli flag? Jewish Ghanian?
If we tie Italy, then a win against Ghana and a win by Italy against Czech puts us through.
What we can't do is allow Italy to score first. If that happens, we are in a world of hurt.
I agree, but I think the US would have brought more players up and played more desperate against Italy.
Hopefully the US gets a mental boost from the Ghana result. But the important thing is, we still have a decent and we control our destiny, and that's all you can ask for.
Hoping for a US victory. You´re in a interesting group. At least in your group we won´t know who´ll reach the next round.
I saw it too. He also pulled it out after the second goal was scored.
"One of the Ghana players kept waving an Israeli flag. What was that all about?
Very interesting result though."
I was wondering about that too.
Interesting huh?
Hey, you (I mean the US team) were the one's that roughed them up so that Ghana could finish them.
And thank you Ghana for getting those yellow cards so that some of your players will miss the game against the US. :)
Can´t be. But today was also a day of protest against Iran and pro Israel - because Iran played today.
We loosened the cap :)
:-) I had the same thoughts!!
Maybe the Israeli flag was a message to Ahmadenejad.
Hopefully there aren't too many Muslims in Ghana.
If the US manage to beat Italy, each team will have 3 points and there'll be a real final matchday for both the top spots.
If the US draws Italy, everything is still possible with the US having the least chances however.
I thought it wads kinda cool. I just hope that he isn't penalised by FIFA for breaking some rule or another...
I saw a lot of Ghana players genuflecting and so forth. I don't think that's just a generic sports gesture, either.
While there are a lot of Muslims in West Africa, there are a lot Christians and Jews, as well.
many players from many teams are Signing the Cross as well, and during the Angola game, the ref did as well..
Oh My Goodness who would of thought Ghana would beat the Czechs???
Wait a minute I DID!
"And the Czechs lose to Ghana."

Now the 2 guys that scored the 2 goals for Ghana are out of the next game due to yellow cards! That means they won't be playing against the US!! And the third Czech striker is out for the game against Italy due to yellow card (first two out on injury)!
