Do it as a question: "Why do liberals applaud when American soldiers die?"

If you ask a question, the mind immediately starts to phrase a response. We can tune out statements easier than questions.

This is an old teacher trick I learned.

Also, it comes off as less attacking, and sneaks under the radar easier...
