I was in line to snag some breakfast at the cafeteria here at work, and got to see that second Argentine goal. I'm not a soccer fan really, or very knowledgeable about the sport, but even I could appreciate the amazing passing to set that goal up. That was impressive.

Me too considering how poorly Argentina did against the Ivory Coast (even though they won 2-1). The absolute domination of Argentina with possession of the ball is what is killing Serbia & Montenegro. It was much more balanced in their previous match.
Thanks, I thought it was something like that regarding T&T. The tricky part is I don't think England or Sweden want to play Germany in Round 2 so that should be an interesting match.
You're right about Poland, Paraguay and Costa Rica. Let's hope for some more upsets, like say the Czech's and Italy : )
I'm cheering for England - and the USA of course, but fancy Argentina or Brazil to win.
Speaking of Genealogy. I've watched a couple of matches on Univision, where did they get a Spanish speaking announcer with a German accent?!?!?
SGC down to 10 men as Mateja Kezman gets sent off for a rough tackle.
Is Don Francisco doing their games. He was born in Germany.
Grrrr..
I missed the first half. Had to to work.
I heard great things about the second goal.
Nevermind, I've found out the answer. There are now 5 red cards.
UEFA - 22 points from 10 matches. The only blemishes so far are 2 losses to Conmebol and a tie with Concacaf. Perfect against Africa so far.
CONMEBOL - 12 points from 6 matches. Tied 2-2 against Uefa so far, up 1-0 over Concacaf, and swept Africa in the first round (which will likely be for the whole tournament).
CONCACAF - 4 points from 6 matches. Three losses to Uefa, one loss to Conmebol, a tie with Uefa, and swept Asia for the whole tournament.
ASIA - 4 points from 4 matches. Swept by Concacaf and Oceania for the whole tournament. One win and one tie against Africa.
OCEANIA - 3 points from 1 match. Swept Asia for the tournament.
AFRICA - 1 point from 5 matches. Two losses to Uefa, and lost their only likely Conmebol match in the whole month. One loss and one tie against Asia.
Sweden's win over Paraguay moves Europe back into the lead in points per match among the big 2. That could be a tight race for the rest of the month. South America might jump back ahead of Europe today, depending on how Serbia and Holland do.
Here comes Messi!
If England wins or draws with Sweden, and if Germany only draws with (or loses to) Ecuador, then England play Germany in the round of 16. England/Sweden will know the German result when they take the field on Tuesday.
And he scores!
Messi to Crespo, 4-0.
4-0. Close the book on Serbia now.
As an Englishman, it pains me to say the Argies look the best team in the tournament.
4-0 Argetina!!!!!!!!
Crespo 78'
I definately expected more of a fight from the Serbs, maybe the Montenegrin contigent quit now that they voted for independence.
Wow.
:-)
