Hollad up 2-0!
This is photo proof it works ;-).
Looks like another great game.
Ruud van Nistelrooy 27'
In order for T&T to advance, England must beat Sweden; if England wins by 1 goal then T&T must win by 3 to win outright. If England wins by 2 goals, T&T must win by 2 to win outright, and if England wins by 3 or more goals then T&T must merely win.
Now if the two teams are tied on goal differential, (Say if England wins by one and T&T wins by only 2, or if England wins by 2 and T&T wins by only 1), then the next tiebreaker is greater number of goals. Right now, T&T has 0 goals while Sweden has only 1. So T&T would have to score 2 more goals than Sweden in its final game. If it's only one more goal, then again the two teams are tied -- apparently there's some kind of coin flip if the teams are still tied.
Now yes, if Sweden ties England or even beats them, then T&T has no chance.
The African teams have been a major disappointment. The traditional teams, like Nigeria and Cameroon would have made a much better showing.
Speaking of efficiency (yeah, I know it's only 35 minutes), NED 2 shots, 2 on goal, 2 goals... making the most of the opportunities when they get them.
Yellow on Robben (Dutch). Ref needs to trade the yellow whistle for a black one. I thought he was carrying a yellow card around in his hand.
Cameroon had the striker that came off the bench and racked up goals, didn't they? He was fun to watch.
Finally, someone trying to get back into one...
Holland 2, 1 Ivory Coast
2-1 !!!
That was a beauty! He lowered the boom on that one
They will definately have to beat Argentina outright to top the group now.
College Football Theory applies.
Mexico is our Prison Girlfriend at games played at sea level. So when they win, our ranking goes up.
Yellow for Drogba (CIV). Kicking the Dutch keeper is a no-no!
I've asked before, but haven't gotten an answer... when was the last time Mexico beat USA outside of Mexico City?
I thought the yellow was harsh. I think Drogba now misses the last game.
Weak ref..
You are correct, Drogba also got a yellow against Argentina.
Cool, now I can cheer on England in the hopes that they get three or more goals. Their scoring has been pretty enemic thus far. I'd love to see T&T advance to the round of 16. p.s. England's Crouch looks like the Gyro Captain guy from The Road Warrior : )
I missed the Mexico / Iran match, but my brother said Iran was booed pretty heavily when they came on the field. Was it that good?
