Feline leukemia, feline AIDS, ringworm, coyotes, cat-hating dogs, alligators -- need I go on?
It's not about how many reasons there are -- or whether or not you approve of them -- it's about the health and safety of our cats. If you have a problem with that, I suggest you take it up with a vet.

We have three indoor-outdoor cats, but the Fat Cat Does Not Go Out, at least not without adult supervision.
She had a bad accident when a wooden pallet fell on her, and was in a cast during the time period from kitten to semi-grown cat, and never learned to be afraid of cars.
We let her out at least once a day to nibble on grass but watch her like a hawk.
The others come and go as they please. We keep their shots up to date.
