I'll agree with number 1 but I'm not familiar with number 2. But I believe that the migration actually started in the teens with blacks coming north to work in war industries. One of the earliest race riots in Chicago occured about 1919 or 1920 as an offshoot of the growing black population on the south side.

In 1927 the Mississippi Delta flooded The result of this is the 98% of blacks that voted Republican became 98% that voted for democRats. It also caused the displacement of thousands that for lack of anywhere else to go--moved north where the jobs were.
