Which countries, aside from the U.S., recognized the Indian tribes as sovereign nations?

LOTS do now. i'm not sure about then. (in point of fact, virtually every nation but the USA recognizes the Mohawk Nations passports. a friend of mine traveled "the world" on his as recently as 2003.)

certainly GB did at that time, as King George entertained Utsidishi, the Principle Chief of our nation, as head of state.
