> Your hyperbole is worthy of Farrakhan.

*What* hyperbole? Is it, or is it not true that the South enslaved far more people for far longer than the Nazis did? *Perhaps* the Soviet Commies did more for longer. Does that make you proud, that the South might be a smidgeon better off in that respect that the USSR?

> I strongly suspect that approximately six million Jews would have chosen the oppression of the South, rather than that of the Nazis.

Then that makes it alright, I guess.

On the issue of slavery:

Slave were brought to America while under English colonial rule.

Question: When did England, Spain and France abolish slavery?

Question: Why are you attacking almost half of the United States, for something that they also wanted to abolish only a few years later?

Pride about Dixie and what it stands for, is obviously something you will never know. I feel rather sorry for you, because you have not learned a very important segment of American history.

The people of America's South are very proud of their history.

The hyperbole is in comparing apples to oranges. Nazis weren't nearly as known for their slavery, they were known for their genocide. Certainly, there were other cultures far more well-known for their slavery.

Then that makes it alright, I guess.

No. But it doesn't mean the South was a bunch of Nazis, either.

But that IS usually the cheap way out of any argument; try to set up the other guy to defend Nazis. Are you telling me you can't condemn slavery on it's own (lack of) merits, you have to invoke genocidal Nazis to do it?

The Confederate States of America lasted from 1861 to 1865 - four years.

Hitler's government lasted from 1933 to 1945 - twelve years.

Prior to 1861, slavery was legal in the United States of America from 1776 to 1861 - eighty-five years.

It sounds to me like you are offended by the historical facts of the United States of America. Why stay in a place you obviously despise? There's a great big world out there - why not pick another place to live?
